(101) And when you travel throughout the land, there is no blame upon you for shortening the prayer, [especially] if you fear that those who disbelieve may disrupt [or attack] you. Indeed, the disbelievers are ever to you a clear enemy.
I prayed two rak'ahs with the Prophet (PBUH) at Mina, and with Abu Bakr, Omar, and Uthman in the beginning of his rein, and then he completed the prayers.
Salamah ibn Kuheil said: I saw Sa'eed ibn Jubeir at Al-Muzdalifah. He established the prayer, then he prayed Al-Maghrib prayer three rak'ahs and said tasleem [concluding the prayer], then he prayed Al-'isha' prayer two rak’ahs. Saeed narrated that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar prayed it in this place and he did the same, and Ibn 'Umar narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) did the same in this place.
