O Bilal, tell me about the deed you have done in Islam, for which you expect the most benefit, for I heard the rustling of your sandals in front of me in Paradise tonight. Bilal replied: I have not done any deed in Islam that I hope will bring me benefit except that whenever I performed a full ablution at any time during the day or night, I would pray with that ablution whatever Allah had decreed for me to pray.
I saw myself entering Paradise, and there was Ar-Rumeisa', the wife of Abu Talhah. Then I heard a rustling in front of me, so I asked: Who is this, O Gabriel? He replied: This is Bilal. Then I saw a white palace with a maid in its courtyard. I asked: Whose palace is this? He replied: It is for 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab. I wanted to enter and look at it, but then I remembered your gheirah (protective jealousy) 'Umar said: May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! Would I ever feel that way of you?!
