There was a man among those who came before you who had never done any good except being monolithic [believeing in one God]. When he was dying, he told his family to wait until he dies, then to burn him until he turns into charcoal, then grind him up and scatter his ashes on a windy day. When he died, they did that to him and behold, he was in the grip of Allah. Allah said: O son of Adam, what made you do what you did? The man said: O Lord, out of fear of You. Narrator said: So he was forgiven for that, and he had never done any good except being monolithic.
If you knew what I know, you would weep a lot and laugh a little.
Seven whom Allah will shade with his shade on the day when there is no shade but his: a just ruler; a youth who grew up worshipping Allah; a man whose heart is attached to the mosque from the time he leaves it until he returns to it; two men who love each other for the sake of Allah, meeting and parting for that reason; a man who remembers Allah in private and his eyes overflow with tears; a man who is invited by a woman of high status and beauty and he says: "I fear Allah"; and a man who gives charity and conceals it so that his left hand does not know what his right hand is spending.
