A -drought- year had afflicted the people during the time of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). While the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was delivering a sermon on the pulpit on Friday, a Bedouin stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, wealth has perished and the children are hungry, so pray to Allah for us to give us rain. So, the Messenger of Allah raised his hands. Narrator said: and there was not even a wisp of a cloud in the sky, then clouds like mountains appeared, and he did not come down from his pulpit until I saw the rain trickling down his beard. Narrator added: So it rained that day, the next day, and the day after, until the next Friday. Then that Bedouin or another man stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, buildings have been destroyed and the wealth has drowned, so pray to Allah for us. The Messenger of Allah raised his hands and said: O Allah, around us and not over us. Narrator said: He did not point his hand to a part of the sky except that the clouds dispersed from there until there was like a hole in the sky over Medina, and the valley -valley of Qanat- remained overflowing for a month. Narrator added: No one came from any direction except that he talked about the heavy rainfall.
