If someone finds his very own property in the possession of a bankrupt man, he has more right to it.

A man suffered a loss during the time of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) of some fruit that he had bought, and his debt increased. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Give him charity. The people gave him charity, but it was not enough to pay off his debt. The Prophet (PBUH) said [to his creditors]: Take what you find, and you have nothing but that.
