The Prophet (PBUH) dispatched a military expedition and appointed Usama ibn Zeid as their commander. Some people challenged his leadership, so the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) stood and said: If you challenge his leadership, you have previously challenged the leadership of his father. By Allah, he [his father] was indeed worthy of leadership, and he was one of the most beloved people to me. And this one [Usama] is among the most beloved people to me after him.
