The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) commanded people of Medina to enter state of ihram from Zthul-Huleifah, people of Ash-Sham (Levant) from Al-Juhfah, and people of Najd from Qarn. 'Abdullah ibn 'Omar said: As for these three, I heard them from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). He added, and I was informed that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: And the people of Yemen should enter state of ihram from Yalamlam.
When these two places (Basrah and Kufah) were conquered, their people came to 'Omar and said: O Commander of the believers, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) has appointed Qarn for people of Najd, which is off our route, and if we headed to Qarn, it would be a hardship for us. So, he asked them about a place that aligns with Qarn on their route, then he appointed Zthatu 'Irq for them.
When the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) inserted his feet into the stirrup and settled on his she-camel's back, and it stood up, he entered the state of ihram and started to raise his voice with the talbiya from the mosque of Zthul-Huleifah Mosque.
