Abu Salamah asked 'A'ishah about the two rak'ahs that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to pray after the afternoon prayer, and she said that he used to pray them before the Asr prayer, but he was distracted or forgot about them, so he prayed them after the Asr prayer, and he used when he prays a prayer to do it constantly.
I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), two rak'ahs before noon, two rak'ahs after it, two rak'ahs after Al-Maghreb, two rak'ahs after Isha', and two rak'ahs after Friday prayer. As for Friday and Al-Maghreb, he prayed them at his home. Narrator said: My sister Hafsah told me that he used to pray two light rak'as at dawn. Narrator said: And it was an hour during which I do not enter the Prophet’s house.
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) did not miss four rak'ahs before Al-Zthuhr prayer, and two rak'ahs before Al-Fajr prayer under any circumstances.
