I left the city heading towards the Al-Ghabah, and when I was at the bend of it, I met a young slave of Abd Al-Rahman ibn 'Awf. I said: Woe to you, what is the matter with you? The young man replied: The Prophet’s milch she-camel had been taken. I said: Who took it? He replied: Ghatfan and Fazarah. So I cried out three times that were heard between the two lava plains: Help! Help! Then I rushed to meet them, and they were driving it. I began to shoot them and say: I am Ibn Al-Akwa' and today is the day of mean people. So I rescued it from them before they drink, so I brought it forward, driving it. The Prophet met me and I said: O Messenger of Allah, the people are thirsty and I forestalled them so they could not drink, so send after them. The Prophet (PBUH) said: O Ibn Al-Akwa', you have taken control, so be forgiving. They must be among their people by now.
