The makers of these images will be tortured on the Day of Resurrection and will be told: Bring life to what you have created.

I entered with Abu Hurairah into a house in Madinah and saw someone at the top of it painting picture. So Abu Hurairah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say: Who would be more wrongdoer than he who tries to create like my creation? Let them create a seed, and let them create an antling. Abu Hurairah then called for a bowl of water and washed his hands until it reached his armpit. I said: O Abu Hurairah, is this something you heard from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)? He said: The extent of the Jewelry [is the extent of ablution on the Day of Resurrection].

The people who will be most severely tortured on the Day of Resurrection are those who imitate Allah’s creation.
