I asked the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) about the wall [of Al-Hijr]. Is it part of the House? He said: Yes. I said: Why did they not include it in the House? He said: Your people were short on spending [to do so]. I said: What about its door that is high off the ground? He said: Your people did it so they could let in whomever they wished and forbade whomever they wished. And had your people not just left pre-Islamic times of ignorance (paganism and polytheism), and I fear that their hearts would reject it, I would have commanded that the wall (of Al-Hijr) be included in the House, and the door be lowered to ground level.
