(188) And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the rulers in order that [they might aid] you [to] consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin, while you know [it is unlawful].
(29) O you who have believed, do not consume one another's wealth unjustly but only [in lawful] business by mutual consent. And do not kill yourselves [or one another]. Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful. (30) And whoever does that in aggression and injustice - then We will drive him into a Fire. And that, for Allah, is [always] easy.
Ali (RA) was asked: Did the Messenger of Allah single you out for something? He said: The Messenger of Allah did not single us out for anything that was not known to all people except what is in my scabbard of my sword. So, he took out a scroll on which was written: May Allah curses whoever sacrifices animals to other than Allah. Allah curses whoever steals the boundary stone of a land. Allah curses whoever curses his parent, and Allah curses whoever provides a shelter to an innovator.
No thief steals while he is a believer, no adulterer commits adultery while he is a believer, no one drinks [alcohol] while he is a believer. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, no one among you plunders a valuable property while people are looking on as he plunders it, while he is a believer, and no one among you embezzles while he is a believer. Beware, beware.
