The blood of a Muslim man who bears witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah is not permissible to be shed except in one of three cases: a man who commits adultery after being married, in which case he is to be stoned; a man who goes out to fight Allah and his Messenger, in which case he is to be killed or crucified or exiled from the land; or a man who kills a soul, in which case he is to be killed in return.
