A man from Children of Israel called Jureij was worshipping in his hermitage. His mother came to him and said: O Jureij, I am your mother, so speak to me. Abu Hureirah described as the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) described her. He put his hand on his right eyebrow. She found him praying. So Jureij thought: O Lord, my mother or my prayer?! And he chose his prayer. She returned and then came back later, and found him praying. So she said: O Jureij, I am your mother, so speak to me. He thought: O Lord, my mother or my prayer?! And he chose his prayer. Then she returned and came back later, and found him praying. So she said: O Jureij, I am your mother, so speak to me. He thought: O Lord, my mother or my prayer?! And he chose his prayer, whereupon she said: O Allah, this is Jureij, and he is my son. I spoke to him but he refused to speak to me. O Allah, do not take his soul until you show him prostitutes. Narrator said: And if she [Jureij's mother] has made a supplication that he would be seduced, he would be seduced. There was a shepherd who used to come to Jureij's hermitage for shelter. A woman went out and the shepherd had intercourse with her and she gave birth to a boy. Peopel said: Whose boy is this? She said: He belongs to the man who lives in the hermitage. They came with their axes and spades and went to the hermitage and called out to him but he did not speak to them. So, they began to demolish his hermitage, so he went down to them and they said: Ask this woman. Narrator said: I think he [Jureij] smiled then he stroked the boy's head and said who is your father. The boy said: The sheep shepherd. People said: O Jureij, we will rebuild what we demolished of your hermitage with gold and silver. He replied: No, but rebuild it with mud as it was. And so they did.
