The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prescribed Zakat-Ul-Fitr at the end of Ramadan on people; A Sa' (2 - 4.2 kg) of dates or a Sa' of barley, on every Muslim free man or slave, male or female among Muslims.

We used to pay Zakat-Ul-Fitr during the time of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH); A sa’ (2 - 4.2 kg) of dates, barley, cheese, or raisins.
