A man from the Ansar said to the Prophet (PBUH): I cannot pray with you -he was a big man. So he prepared food for the Prophet (PBUH) and invited him to his house. Then, he spread out a mat for he Prophet (PBUH) and sprinkled the edge of the mat with water. The Prophet (PBUH) prayed two rak’ahs on it. A man from the Al-Jaroud family asked Anas: Did the Prophet (PBUH) use to pray the Duha prayer? Anas replied: I never saw him pray it except that day.
She asked her whether the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prayed Al-Duha prayer four rak'ahs, and she said: Yes, four rak'ahs, and he would add whatever Allah willed.
My intimate friend -the prophet (PBUH)- exhorted me of three deeds: Praying the witr (odd/single rak'ah) before bed, praying two rak'ahs of Duha, and fasting three days every month.
I went to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) in the year of the Conquest and found him bathing and his daughter Fatimah was covering him with a garment. So I greeted him. He replied: Who is this? I said: I am Um Hani’, daughter of Abu Talib. He said: Welcome Um Hani'. When he finished bathing, he stood up and prayed eight rak’ahs, wrapped in one garment. Then when he finished, I said: O Messenger of Allah, my mother’s son claimed 'Ali Ibn Abi Talib, that he will kill a man ro whom I granted protection, so-and-so Ibn Hubayra. So the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: We have granted protection to whomever you have granted protection, O Um Hani'. Um Hani' commented: And that was in the forenoon.
