The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) stayed awake one night while 'Aishah was by his side. She said: I asked, O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter with you? He replied: I wish a righteous man from my companions would guard me tonight. She said: While I was like that, I heard the clink of weapons. The Prophet (PBUH) said: Who is this? It was said: It is me, Sa'd ibn Malik. The Prophet (PBUH) asked: What brought you here? He said: I have come to guard you, O Messenger of Allah. She said: Then I heard the snoring of the Prophet’s in his sleep.
