A woman entered upon 'Aishah and saw a spear put up. She said: What is this spear? 'Aishah replied: We kill geckos with it. Then she narrated on the authority of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) that when Abraham was thrown into the fire, all the creatures tried to put out the fire except the gecko, which kept blowing on it [trying to stoke it up].
