A man used to write for the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). When the Prophet (PBUH) dictated the phrase "All-Hearing," the man would write it as "All-Hearing, All-Seeing." The Prophet (PBUH) said: Leave it. When the Prophet dictated "All-Knowing, All-Wise," the man would write it as "All-Knowing, Forbearing." Hammad said: It was something similar to this. This man had memorized Al-Baqarah and Ali-Imran, and anyone who memorized them was considered to have memorized much of the Qur'an. Then, he apostatized and became a Christian, claiming: I used to write for Muhammad whatever I wanted, and he would say "leave it." Then the man died, and he was buried, but the earth cast his body out two or three times.
