The Messenger of Allah invaded Kheibar and we prayed Al-Fajr prayer there at dawn. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) mounted his ride and Abu Talhah mounted his and I was riding behind Abu Talhah. The Prophet of Allah (PBUH) ran through the alleys of Kheibar and my knee was touching the thigh of the Prophet PBUH), then the lower garment was pulled back from over his thigh that I could see the whiteness of his thigh. When he entered the village, he said: Allah is Greater! Kheibar is ruined. When we come to the courtyard of people, how terrible will that morning be for those who had been warned! He said it three times. Then the people went out to their work. They said: Muhammad! Abdul Aziz said: And some of our companions said: And Al-Khamis (the army). Narrator said: So we seized it by force and gathered the captives. He said: Then Dihyah came and said: O Prophet of Allah, give me a slave girl from the captives. The Prophet (PBUH) replied: Go and take a slave girl. Narrator said: So he took Safiyyah bint Huyayy. Then a man came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said: O Messenger of Allah, you have given Safiyyah bint Huyayy, the lady of Quraizah and Nadhir to Dihyah, and she is not suitable for anyone but you. the Prophet (PBUH) said: Call him along with her. So he brought her. When the Prophet (PBUH) looked at her, he said to Dihyah: Take a slave girl from the captives other than her. Then the Prophet (PBUH) freed her and married her. A narrator asked Anas: What was the bride price he gave her? Anas replied: Her freedom, he freed her and then married her. When he was on the road, Um Suleim prepared her and presented her to the Prophet (PBUH) at night. Next morning, the Prophet (PBUH) as a bridegroom said: Whoever has something [food], let him bring it. He spread out a mat and a man brought cottage cheese, another brought dates, and another brought ghee. Narrator said: And I think he mentioned gruel. So they made a hays [type of food], and it was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH).
We set out with the Prophet (PBUH) to Kheibar and one of us said: O 'Amir, let us hear some of your poems. He got down and started to chant: "By Allah, Had it not been for Allah, we would not have been guided". 'Narrator said: Amir added poetry other than this, but I do not remember. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Who is this -camel- driver? They said: 'Amir ibn Al-Akwa'. He said: May Allah have mercy on him. One of us said: O Prophet of Allah, would that you let us enjoy his company longer! When people lined up, the battle started, and 'Amir ibn Al-Akwa' was struck by the blade of his own sword and died. When evening came, they lit many fires. The Messenger of Allah said: What is this fire? What are you cooking on it? They said: Domestic donkeys. He said, Pour out what is in the pots and break them. A man said: Shall we not pour out what is in them and wash them instead? He said: Or that.
