The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) went out to the people of Aslam while they were practicing archery in the market. He said: Shoot, O children of Ishmael, for your father was an archer. Shoot, and I am with the children of so-and-so, referring to one of the two teams. So they stopped. He said: Shoot. They said: O Messenger of Allah, how would we shoot when you are with the children of so-and-so. He said: Shoot, and I am with all of you.

I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying while he was on the pulpit: (Prepare against them what you can of power..) [Al-Anfal: 60]. Verily, the power is the archery, the power is archery.

Lands will be conquered, and Allah will be suffice you, but do not quit playing with your arrows.
