A Jewish woman put poison in some meat and brought it to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) ate some of it and said: She put poison in it. They said: O Messenger of Allah, should we not kill her? He replied: No. Anas added: Then I began to recognize that [effect of poison] on the uvulas of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH).

When Kheibar was conquered, a poisoned sheep was brought as a gift to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said; Gather for me whoever is here from the Jews. So they gathered them. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to them: I am going to ask you about something. Will you tell the truth about it? They said: Yes, O Abu Al-Qasim. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to them: Who is your father? They said: Our father is so-and-so. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Rather, you have lied. Your father is so-and-so. They said: You have spoken the truth and acted justly. He said to them: Will you now tell the truth if I asked you about something? They said: Yes, O Abu Al-Qasim. And if we lie to you, you will know that as you did regarding our father. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Who are the people of Hell? They said: We will be in it for a short time, then you will succeed us in it. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: We will never succeed you in it. Then he said to them: Will you tell the truth if I asked you about something? They said: Yes, O Abu Al-Qasim. He said to them: Have you poisoned this sheep? They said: Yes. He said: What made you do that? They said: We wanted, if you were a liar, to get rid of you, and if you were a prophet, it would not harm you.
