The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade us from wearing gold rings.

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saw a gold ring on a man’s hand, so he took it off and put it away and said: Some of you deliberately takes a piece of burning coal and put it on his hand! The man was told after the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) had left: Take your ring and benefit from it. He said: No, by Allah, I will never take it back after the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) has put it away.
