(245) Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.
(254) O you who have believed, spend from that which We have provided for you before there comes a Day in which there is no exchange and no friendship and no intercession. And the disbelievers - they are the wrongdoers.

(34) O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment. (35) The Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell and seared therewith will be their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, [it will be said], "This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard.

Abu Talhah was the most wealthy of the Ansar in Medina, and the most of his wealth he cherished was Bayraha', which was facing the mosque, and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to enter it and drink from its good water. When the following verse was revealed: {You will not attain righteousness until you spend of what you cherish} [Ali 'imran: 92], Abu Talhah went to the Messenger of Allah and said: O Messenger of Allah, Allah Almighty says in his Book, {You will not attain righteousness until you spend of what you cherish}, and and the most of his wealth I cherish is Bayraha', so I give it in charity and I hope for its reward from Allah, so spend it, O Messenger of Allah, the way you want. The prophet (PBUH) said, well done, that is profitable money. That is profitable money. I have heard what you said about it, and I think you should distribute it among the closest ones. I came to Medina while seeking the allowance from 'Uthman ibn 'Affan. I sat in a circle of Qureish, then a man came wearing tattered clothes and wrapping a garment around his head. He said: Give glad tidings to the hoarders of wealth of burns on their foreheads, on their backs, and on their sides. Then he moved to a pillar and prayed two rak'ahs behind it. I asked: Who is this? They said: This is Abu Ztharr. So, I said to him: What is that I heard you calling out? He replied: I only said to them what they had heard from their Prophet (PBUH). I asked him: May Allah have mercy on you. I used to take the allowance from 'Umar. What do you think? He said: Take it, for today it is assistance. But soon it will become a debt, and when it becomes a debt, then reject it.
